Background

There are two 1200KW electrical steam boilers in a hotel. Boiler feed water is treated by water softener and chemicals.

There is one heating filaments in each boiler. The filament is expensive because it is made of stainless steel. The mineral scale coated on it (as shown in picture 1) lead to the burnt out of the filament as it is energized all the time. The huge heat energy cannot be removed by water because of the presence of mineral scale.

After knowing the descaling performance of HydroFLOW, it was decided to install HydroFLOW to mitigate the situation.

Result

After six months of operation without pre-cleaning of the filament, it was found that the scale deposit on filament was dissolved as shown in picture 2.

Since then, no filament is burnt out due to the formation of mineral scale and protection of heating filament is achieved.
